IGS started in 1990 as a repair facility with a focus on DEC and Compaq products, specializing in mid-range microcomputers. We are known in the industry as a Legacy midrange repair facility. In the ‘90s the company developed successful relationships within our Federal Government, US Military and NASA. Clearly, the quality of our work is the reason IGS earned this, and all our business. “We supply mission critical parts,” remarks founder Bobby Ahearn.

IGS grew to become the world’s largest independent remanufacturer and source of supply, service and depot repair of obsolete – even recently obsolete – Digital Equipment Corporation parts, products and systems and marketed itself under the slogan, Some Machines Defy Obsolescence. We maintain an extensive inventory of DEC parts and equipment, with some dating back as far as the 1960s, but we also support products manufactured as recently as last year. We refurbish and service those parts adding current technology when applicable. Our multimillion dollar inventory, coupled with our worldwide sourcing expertise, enables us to fulfill your requirements rapidly and cost effectively.

Our customers – Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies among them – can’t afford anything less than zero defects. We strongly believe in this business philosophy, and foster this at the very core of our company culture. IGS maintains the most advanced test equipment and thoroughly test every part before shipment. Because of this, customers like the U.S. Postal System have entrusted us to service and supply products for their 365 sites. The IGS repair department are fortunate to employ technicians with an average of 20 years of experience. Our staff are referred to within the industry as “super technicians,” a nickname earned from years of servicing millions of parts.
